Da Nang warns to proactively respond to strong winds at sea

The weather in the coming days will be bad both at sea and at sea. The Da Nang City Civil Defense Command has issued a warning for prevention.

On December 24, the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command issued a document requesting armed forces, departments, branches, localities and related units to proactively deploy measures to respond to strong winds at sea and accompanying dangerous weather phenomena.

According to information from the meteorological agency, a cold air mass will continue to move south and will directly affect Da Nang city. On land, the wind will shift to the Northeast, gradually increasing in intensity, and the coastal areas will have stronger winds. The weather will turn cold at night and in the morning, the mountainous areas will be clearly cold. At sea, strong northeast winds, rough seas, high waves, pose many potential safety risks to ships operating offshore.

In the face of the above situation, the City Civil Defense Command requires units to continue to strictly implement issued directives on responding to heavy rain and the Northeast monsoon; regularly closely monitor forecasts and warnings of natural disasters to promptly activate response plans suitable to each risk level.

The City Military Command, the City Border Guard Command, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Da Nang Coastal Information Station and the People's Committees of coastal communes and wards are assigned to closely monitor developments of strong winds at sea; promptly notify owners of vehicles and ships in operation to proactively prevent and adjust production plans, ensure safety of people and property. The City Border Guard proactively reviews and strictly manages the departure of ships in accordance with regulations.

The Civil Defense Command also warned of the possibility of showers, moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms; strong gusts of wind, tornadoes, and lightning that could negatively affect agricultural production, houses, transportation and infrastructure. Localities and units need to proactively plan precautions to minimize possible damage.
