According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, on the day and night of May 20, the Gulf of Tonkin area, the northwest sea area of the East Sea, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and scattered thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 6-7, sea waves over 2m high. Ships operating at sea are warned of the risk of being affected by dangerous weather.
On land, from May 20 to 21, the Northeast region, South Lao Cai, South Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate to very heavy rain, locally over 250mm. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of heavy rain intensity over 100mm in 3 hours, easily causing flooding, flash floods and landslides.
In Da Nang, according to the 10-day weather forecast bulletin of the Central Hydrometeorological Station, from May 19 to 21, the city will have sunshine, showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, and moderate to heavy rain in mountainous areas. From May 22 to 28, the temperature will gradually increase, with the possibility of hot sunshine.
The City Civil Defense Command requests departments, branches, and localities to continue to closely monitor weather developments; promptly provide warning information to people; review areas at high risk of flash floods and landslides to proactively evacuate people when necessary.
Functional forces are required to be ready with vehicles and personnel to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, strengthen propaganda on skills to respond to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, flooding and strong winds at sea to minimize damage.
The City Border Guard Command and coastal localities continue to strictly manage ships going out to sea, promptly notify strong wind developments at sea so that fishermen can proactively prevent and ensure the safety of people and property.
