According to the central region hydrometeorological agency, after recording high temperatures on June 1, Da Nang city and many neighboring localities will enter a new heat wave with the highest temperature commonly from 35-38 degrees C, with some places exceeding the threshold of 38 degrees C.
In the past 24 hours, Da Nang has experienced widespread hot weather. The highest temperature is commonly from 35-35.5 degrees C, the lowest humidity ranges from 52-60%. Dry and hot weather conditions increase the feeling of stuffiness, especially at noon and early afternoon.
Forecast for the next two days, hot weather will continue to expand and increase in intensity in many areas. Hai Chau, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le districts, Hoa Khanh area and neighboring localities such as Hoi An, Dien Ban, Dai Loc have the highest temperature from 35-37 degrees C. Some areas in Tam Ky, Nui Thanh, Thang Binh may record temperatures above 37 degrees C.
In midland and mountainous areas such as Hoa Tien, Hai Van, Thanh My, Dong Giang, Tay Giang, Que Son, Tien Phuoc, Kham Duc and Tra My, the common temperature is also from 35-37 degrees Celsius. The relative lowest humidity decreases to about 45-55%, increasing the feeling of dryness and heat.
The meteorological agency warns that in the next 72 to 120 hours, hot weather will still be maintained on a large scale. This is a period of weather that may last, increasing the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas, production facilities, industrial parks and especially the risk of forest fires in areas with dry vegetation.
Functional sectors recommend that people limit working outdoors during peak hot weather from 11 am to 3 pm. It is necessary to replenish water regularly, use appropriate sun protection measures to prevent dehydration, exhaustion or heat shock. The heat wave is currently warned at disaster risk level 1.
