Warning from the Central Hydrometeorological Agency, prolonged heat continues on a large scale, low humidity causes prolonged hot weather, posing a risk of fires, explosions, forest fires and affecting people's health.
According to forecasts, in Da Nang on May 27, the areas of Hai Chau, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le, Hoa Khanh and neighboring localities such as Hoi An, Dien Ban, Dai Loc will continue to experience intense heat. The hot weather lasts from about 9 am to 4 pm.
The area of Tam Ky, Nui Thanh, Thang Binh has the highest temperature from 37-39 degrees C, in some places above 39 degrees C. Mountainous districts such as Dong Giang, Tay Giang, Thanh My, Kham Duc, Tra My also experienced widespread hot sun with temperatures from 36-39 degrees C.
On May 28th, the heat in the Central region tends to gradually decrease in intensity. The highest temperature is commonly from 35-37 degrees Celsius, but many places still maintain prolonged hot weather. The lowest humidity ranges from 45-55%.
The meteorological agency warns that in the next 72 to 120 hours, hot weather will continue to decrease but will still appear locally in some places with temperatures from 34-36 degrees Celsius. From May 30, this hot spell is likely to end.
In addition to the hot weather on land, the central sea area is also warned of the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind. Ships operating at sea need to closely monitor weather developments to proactively prevent risks.
Functional sectors recommend that people limit working outdoors during hot weather, regularly replenish water and prevent the risk of heat shock. Localities need to strengthen control of the risk of forest fires and fires in residential and industrial areas in prolonged hot and dry weather conditions.
