The project to invest in a sewer line from Phu Loc canal to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (on Phung Hung street) was invested by the People's Committee of Da Nang city with more than 145 billion VND.

On October 30, at the 20th session of the 10th People's Council of Da Nang City, term 2021-2026, the People's Council delegates approved the proposal on investing in a sewer line from Phu Loc canal to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (on Phung Hung street) in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Phu Loc canal covers the basins of Lien Chieu, Cam Le and Thanh Khe districts (Da Nang airport basin) with a total drainage basin of about 3 square kilometers.

Given the complicated and extreme weather conditions in recent years, especially in the last 2 years, the amount of rainwater flowing into Phu Loc canal is very large, sometimes overflowing the canal banks (the rain on October 14, 2022, the rain on October 13 and 14, 2023). The project to invest in a sewer line from Phu Loc canal to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (on Phung Hung street) aims to minimize flooding in areas, especially the city center. Therefore, the City People's Committee believes that the diversion of Phu Loc canal to quickly drain rainwater into Da Nang Bay is extremely necessary and urgent.

The project to invest in a sewer line from Phu Loc canal to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (on Phung Hung street) with a total investment of more than 145 billion VND. The project will be implemented from 2024 - 2027 by the Management Board of Infrastructure Projects of Da Nang Industrial Park and High-Tech Park as the investor.
