The People's Council of Da Nang City has just approved the Investment proposal for construction, upgrading and repair of Da Nang Mental Hospital with a total investment of more than 87 billion VND.

On October 30, at the 20th session of the People's Council of Da Nang City, term X, 2021-2026, the People's Council delegates approved the report on Investment in construction, upgrading and repair of Da Nang Mental Hospital.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Da Nang Mental Hospital (193 Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District) has many items built since 2001 and have now seriously degraded. The functional rooms are moldy, the windows are rusty, the walls are peeling because they are too old, the concrete beams and floors in many places are exposed to rust, causing unsafety. The electrical system is often short-circuited during the rainy season, causing danger to staff and patients. The roofs of the buildings are heavily leaking, many places have to be temporarily covered with tarpaulins, which is not safe for use during the rainy season. The medical team and doctors are always cleaning up the dining area and living room to provide shelter for patients when it rains.

According to the results of the construction quality inspection, the current status of the construction block is showing signs of deterioration, mold seepage, and crumbling of the surrounding wall mortar. The concrete floor has many cracks, peeling concrete, exposed rusty steel, the corrugated iron roof is damaged and leaking, the foundation of the construction has sunk and cracked bricks, the main door and windows are damaged and rusty. The results of the assessment of the danger level of the construction blocks are at level C danger. The load-bearing capacity of a structural part cannot meet the requirements of normal use, there is a local danger, the function is not guaranteed... Therefore, the People's Committee of Da Nang City believes that investing in the construction, upgrading and renovating of Da Nang Mental Hospital to ensure operation is extremely necessary.
