Reflecting to functional agencies before the fourth session of the 11th Da Nang City People's Council, people in Thanh Binh commune, Da Nang city expressed concern about the situation of illegal mineral exploitation, transportation and gathering taking place in adjacent areas.
Due to the rugged mountainous terrain, many trails and streams, subjects often take advantage of the border areas between communes to operate and evade inspection by functional forces. People proposed that the city should direct inter-regional coordination to protect resources, environment and maintain security and order.
According to Da Nang City Police, the Chairman of the City People's Committee has issued urgent directives, in which direct responsibility is assigned to the Chairman of the commune-level People's Committee if prolonged violations occur in the area.
The Economic Police force has coordinated with Thanh Binh Commune Police and police of adjacent communes (such as Son Cam Ha, Tien Phuoc, Tra Lien, Tra My, Phu Ninh, Lanh Ngoc) to simultaneously review and strengthen patrols at hotspots.
In just the first 6 months of 2026, functional forces discovered 6 cases with 8 violators, issued decisions to fine 434 million VND, confiscated 384 kg of minerals and many related tools and machinery.
In the coming time, Da Nang City Police affirmed that they will continue to conduct surprise raids at night and on holidays; thoroughly inspect gathering yards, processing facilities and related cash flow. The masterminds, ringleaders or acts of aiding and covering will be strictly handled, resolutely preventing the formation of complex mineral exploitation points.
