On May 14, reporters were present in Phu Thanh village, Hiep Thanh commune (Lam Dong) to record reflections related to environmental pollution here.
Many households here reflect on the pollution caused by Tay Nguyen Economic Development Co., Ltd. stockpiling cow manure in the business premises, affecting the lives and activities of people.

According to people, whether day or night, households living around the area where this enterprise collects cow manure must close their doors because of the strong stench and dense flies appearing.
Mr. Lai Van Hieu (51 years old, residing in Phu Thanh village) said that about a week ago, the yard area of his house was covered with flies.
“In the period from May 6 to 12, the house must always be closed. Especially when eating rice, you must cover it tightly because the smell of cow manure is very unpleasant, flies fly everywhere,” Mr. Hieu reflected.
People believe that the cause stems from the enterprise gathering dozens of tons of cow manure outdoors, right in the company's premises. Although surrounded by fences, the stench and flies still spread to the residential area.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat, a local resident, said that his family's life has been disrupted for many days.
“Although nets are set up and insect spray is used, flies still fly into the house. The stench appears even when eating and resting, making everyone tired. Currently, although the business has transported manure out of the area, the stench is still very strong,” Mr. Dat said.
Records at the scene show that the vacant land area where the enterprise used to stockpile cow manure still smells bad. Although the enterprise has moved most of the manure into the warehouse, flies still appear around the area.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Chu Duc Toan - Director of Tay Nguyen Economic Development Co., Ltd., admitted that the collection of fertilizer for agricultural production has affected surrounding households.
According to Mr. Toan, the time when businesses collect fertilizer is with rainy days, so bad odors and flies arise.

After the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh commune inspected, the enterprise was requested to fix it within 3 days and moved the amount of fertilizer to the warehouse.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hiep - Chairman of Hiep Thanh Commune People's Committee said: Immediately after receiving people's feedback, the locality directed to inspect the scene and requested businesses to urgently handle the pollution situation.
Currently, the Commune People's Committee has assigned relevant units to continue monitoring the recovery process, not allowing the situation to recur, causing environmental and people's lives to be affected. If violations continue, the enterprise will be handled according to regulations.
