On November 14, the construction unit of the Bac Lieu Provincial Museum Interior Exhibition Project said it had worked overtime to open on December 22, 2024.
The project was officially started on October 2, 2023, called the Bac Lieu Museum Interior Exhibition Project in Block B, C - Cao Van Lau Theater - also known as the Bac Lieu Province Three-Conical Hat Theater.
The project to display the interior of Bac Lieu General Museum in blocks B and C has an investment capital of more than 50 billion VND, invested by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and implemented by the joint venture contractor A.V.I.E.W Investment and Construction Group Joint Stock Company and Central Fine Arts Joint Stock Company.
The project has a permanent exhibition area of 1,934m2, displaying themes recreating the history of the formation of Bac Lieu land and people and the process of fighting to protect the country and the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee and People of Bac Lieu province during the renovation period. The project implementation period is until the end of 2024.
According to the construction unit, the museum's exhibition has 4 floors, located in 2 buildings B and C of the 3 conical hats theater (including: floors 1B, 2B, 3B and 2C).
Floor 1B introduces the land and people of Bac Lieu, floor 2B specializes in Oc Eo culture, three ethnic groups Kinh - Hoa - Khmer, the entire floor 3B is dedicated to displaying the struggle to defend the country from the time of land reclamation to the period of fighting against France and the US, and floor 2C is the theme of Bac Lieu today, displaying the economic, cultural, social and tourism achievements of the province.
According to plan, the museum can open in December 2024 to serve the sightseeing and tourism needs of visitors to Bac Lieu.
Cao Van Lau Theater is located next to Hung Vuong Square (Ward 1, Bac Lieu City, Bac Lieu Province) built in the model of three intertwined conical hats (the three conical hats are three buildings A, B and C), with a total area of 2,262m2, divided into 3 cylindrical blocks, conical hat-shaped roofs facing each other. In which, the highest height is 24.25m, diameter 45.15m and composite roof.
The theater started construction in 2013. In 2014, Cao Van Lau Theater was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings) as "Cao Van Lau Theater and Bac Lieu Province Cultural and Art Exhibition Center with the shape of three largest conical hats in Vietnam".
The Three Conical Hats Theatre has recently been recognized as a typical tourist destination in the Mekong Delta.
Inside building A, there is full modern sound and lighting, meeting the needs of performing traditional arts, such as: Cai luong, du ke, contemporary music and dance... with a capacity of more than 850 seats. Building B and C will not be completed until the end of 2024.
