The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a forecast bulletin on strong winds, big waves and thunderstorms in the sea areas due to the impact of cold air.
Currently, in the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, there are strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6. The development of the marine weather in the coming hours is forecast to be unfavorable, affecting the operation of ships.
From the evening of December 24 to December 25, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the wind will gradually increase to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas with wave heights from 2-3m.
The North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) has northeast winds gradually increasing to level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
From the evening of December 25, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau and the Central East Sea will record northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
In the western sea area of the South China Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone), the northeast wind will also gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
In addition, on the night of December 24 and December 25, the central and southern East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone), the sea area from Dak Lak to Ca Mau will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.
During the night of December 25 and December 26, the Gulf of Tonkin will have strong northeast winds of level 6 at night and in the morning, gusting to level 7-8, then gradually decreasing the wind, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.
The North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) maintains strong northeast winds of level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
The sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, the area between the East Sea and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of Truong Sa) will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
Given the developments of strong winds and big waves, the level of natural disaster risk at sea is determined at level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by bad weather.
