    The meteorological agency has specifically warned that the areas of Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms today, October 7, locally over 250mm.

    According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (October 7), the Northern region and Thanh Hoa had moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain; in particular, the Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Hanoi and Thanh Hoa regions had heavy to very heavy rain. Rainfall from 7pm on October 6 to 6am on October 7 was locally over 200mm in some places such as Hoa Thuong station (Thai Nguyen) 437.6mm, Bo Ha station (Bac Giang) 250.4mm,...

    Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh areas today 7.10, are forecast to have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 60 - 120mm, locally over 250mm.

    The mountainous and midland areas of the North during the day and night of October 7 are forecast to have heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 40 - 100mm, locally very heavy rain over 200mm.

    The Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 30 - 60mm, locally very heavy rain over 150mm.

    The meteorological agency warns of the risk of heavy rain over 150mm in 3 hours.

    Nghe An - Ha Tinh area during the day and night of October 7, forecast to have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20 - 40mm, locally over 70mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

    The meteorological agency forecasts that from October 8, heavy rain in the North and Thanh Hoa will decrease.

    The warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.

    Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, industrial parks; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
