National Highway 279D in Son La landslide, many places are partially flooded, traffic jams

Son La - Due to the influence of storm No. 11 causing heavy rain, many areas in the province were partially flooded, landslides caused traffic congestion.

At about 7:30 a.m. on October 6, at Km80+300 National Highway 279D, the section passing through Muong Bu commune, a landslide occurred with an estimated volume of about 20,000m3, causing traffic jams. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any damage to people or vehicles.

Traffic Management and Construction Joint Stock Company I (Son La) urgently put up warning signs and sent forces to be on duty at the scene.

At the same time, mobilize machinery and human resources to level and repair the landslide immediately after it occurs. However, the area still has the potential risk of rolling rocks and landslides continuing to occur, causing danger to people and vehicles passing by.

In addition to Muong Bu area, heavy rain also caused local flooding in Thuan Chau, Yen Chau, Mai Son communes, Moc Son ward, Chieng Sinh ward and To Hieu ward... Many inter-commune roads appeared to have small, slippery landslides, making traffic difficult.

Local authorities have mobilized militia, people and machinery to participate in the repair, while increasing warnings and guidance for people when traveling through areas at risk of landslides.
