The meteorological agency warned of heavy rain in the area from Thua Thien Hue to Phu Yen due to the impact of cold air.

According to data from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and today (December 27), the Central Central and South Central regions had rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain; the Quang Nam - Quang Ngai region had moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Rainfall from 7pm on December 26 to 3pm on December 27 was over 50mm in some places such as: Nui Thanh (Quang Nam) 113.6mm, Ba Dien (Quang Ngai) 65.4mm, Ho Tra Tan (Binh Thuan) 61.4mm, Song Hinh (Phu Yen) 57.9mm, Dinh Hon Ba (Khanh Hoa) 50.8mm...

The area from Thua Thien Hue to Phu Yen from the evening of December 27 to December 28 is forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 30 - 60mm, locally over 100mm. From the night of December 28, heavy rain will gradually decrease.

In Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa areas from the evening of December 27 to December 28, there is forecast to be rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, locally over 50mm.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The warning level for natural disaster risks due to heavy rain, tornadoes and lightning is level 1. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
