Regarding the sea weather this week, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that wave heights tend to increase, the central and southern East Sea (including Truong Sa archipelago) will have waves 2 - 4m high; the North East Sea, Binh Dinh - Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan - Ca Mau, Ca Mau - Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have waves 2 - 3.5m high; other sea areas will have small wave heights below 2m. It is necessary to be on guard during thunderstorms and tornadoes that may be accompanied by unusually high waves in coastal areas.
In addition, the notable information is that from around June 11 to 13, the possibility of tropical cyclones (storm/tropical depression) appearing in the sea east of the North and Central East Sea is forecast with a probability of about 50 - 60%.
Previously, in the weather trend forecast for June, the meteorological agency said that the number of storms or tropical depressions in the East Sea is likely to be at a level similar to the average of many years. According to the average data of many years in June, there will be about 1.1 storms or tropical depressions in the East Sea.
Storms, tropical depressions and the southwest monsoon are likely to cause strong winds, large waves at sea and affect the activities of ships.
