According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (March 29), the Northeast region had rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, with locally heavy rain.
Forecast for the day and night of March 29, the Northern region will have rain, showers with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall over 50mm.
The meteorological agency warns that rain during the transitional period contains many dangerous phenomena due to conflicts between different air masses in nature. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
From March 30, the Northern region weather will change rapidly, and the temperature will rise.
On March 30, in the Northwest region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, there will be hot sun, in some places intense hot sun with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. The hottest time is about 13 - 16 hours.
The Northern Delta region has localized hot weather with the highest temperature above 35 degrees C; the relative lowest humidity is commonly 55 - 60%.
On the 31st, widespread heat waves will continue to occur in the Northwest region, from Thanh Hoa to Hue city and are likely to expand to the Northern Delta region.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk due to hot weather is level 1. Due to the impact of hot weather combined with low humidity in the air, there is a risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand. Hot weather can also cause dehydration for the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
