The Northern region will have a clear cold spell from December 13. The mountainous and midland areas of the North will have severe cold during December 13-14, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold; the Northern Delta will have some places experiencing severe cold.

The average temperature is 16 - 18 degrees Celsius, especially in the mountainous and midland areas 14 - 16 degrees Celsius, high mountainous areas below 13 degrees Celsius.
The North Central region has the lowest temperature of 14 - 17 degrees Celsius, the average temperature is 17 - 19 degrees Celsius.
During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the mountainous and midland areas of the North will generally be 7 - 10 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas, some places will be below 5 degrees Celsius; in the plains, it will generally be 11 - 14 degrees Celsius; and in the North Central region, it will be 12 - 15 degrees Celsius. This is the temperature that affects many outdoor activities and people need to ensure to keep warm.
Hanoi area will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms on the night of December 12 and December3; thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. From December 13, the weather will turn cold, some places will be very cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is generally 12 - 14 degrees Celsius.
The weather is very cold, with severe cold in some places, which can affect livestock, poultry and the growth and development of crops, especially in mountainous and midland areas.
Due to the influence of cold air combined with convergence in the upper westerly wind zone, from the night of December 12 to the end of the night of December 13, the North and North Central regions will experience moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the east of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa from the night of December 13 to the end of the night of December 14 is forecast to have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on steep slopes. High-intensity rain in a short period of time can also cause many urban areas and industrial parks to be partially flooded.
