Soil moisture model shows that some areas in the above province are nearly saturated (over 80%) or have reached a saturated state.
In the next 3 - 6 hours (from 3:30 p.m. on June 7), Hoa Binh province will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 20 - 40mm, some places over 60mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above province, especially in the districts: Yen Thuy, Cao Phong, Da Bac, Kim Boi, Lac Thuy, Luong Son, Mai Chau, Tan Lac, Hoa Binh City.
The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow is level 1.

Mr. Hoang Van Dai - Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting commented that flash floods, and landslides are very dangerous types of natural disasters and often occur in a short time.
"For the midland and mountainous areas of Vietnam, from 2023 to now, we have also deployed a warning information system according to the time of flash floods and landslides.
This is a very important information system and is updated every hour, covering all provinces in the midland and mountainous areas of Vietnam" - Mr. Hoang Van Dai said.

Flash floods and landslides can have a very negative impact on the environment, threatening people's lives; causing local traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; civil and economic works, causing damage to production activities and socio-economic activities.
The meteorological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.
