At about 1:30 pm on August 18, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes appeared in Ham Thuan Nam commune, causing damage to many houses.
According to initial statistics, 9 houses had their roofs blown off, and some assets inside were damaged. Among them, the house of Ms. Kieu Thi Le (born 1970, Minh Thanh village) was the most severely damaged.
About 120 m2 of Ms. Le's roof was blown off. Many groceries were damaged, and a bedroom also collapsed.

The remaining households had their roofs blown off, walls cracked, power poles broken and the power grid system affected.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the government of Ham Thuan Nam commune came to the scene to support people in cleaning up and moving property to a safe place.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ha, Vice Chairman of Ham Thuan Nam Commune People's Committee, said that the locality is continuing to statistically assess damage, encourage people to overcome the consequences and gradually stabilize their lives.
Fortunately, the tornado did not cause any casualties.
