In the evening and night of March 31, the South Central and Southern regions will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain with rainfall of 15 - 30mm, some places over 60mm.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and hail is level 1. Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
Regarding the development of high tides, currently, the tidal water level on the eastern coast of the South is at a high level. The highest water level observed at Vung Tau station was 420cm at 2:30 a.m. on March 31.
From the evening of March 31 to April 1, coastal provinces from Vung Tau to Ca Mau are forecast to have wave heights of 415 - 425cm at around 0:00 - 4:00 and 13:00 - 19:00 every day.
The water level in the coastal area of the Southeast tends to increase gradually. The highest water level at Vung Tau station is forecast to reach 415 - 425cm.
Low-lying coastal areas, riverbanks, and areas outside the dykes in the Southeast are likely to be flooded in the late afternoon and evening.
