Information from the People's Committee of Soc Son commune said that due to the impact of storm No. 11, heavy rain that has lasted for many days has caused serious flooding in the area.
According to the Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the total rainfall measured in Soc Son commune was up to more than 255mm, reaching 180mm on October 7 alone. Heavy rain caused the water level of the Ca Lo River at Manh Tan station to exceed alert level III, reaching 8.47m - the highest level since the beginning of the rainy season. It is forecasted that river water will continue to rise due to the impact of heavy rains and flood discharge from upstream reservoirs.
Prolonged heavy rain has caused more than 1,000 households in low-lying areas to be flooded, concentrated in riverside villages such as Duoc Ha, Tan Do - Xom Com, Dong Lac, Ca village, Ben village... Many key traffic routes were deeply flooded such as National Highway 3 (section through Duoc Ha - Noi Phat), Nui Doi road, Provincial Road 131 and many village and hamlet routes in residential areas. In order to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the People's Committee of Soc Son commune has urgently deployed response measures, mobilizing more than 100 cadres, militia, police, medical staff and village cadres to be on duty 24/7 to be ready to handle emergency situations. Flooded areas are being drained; authorities support food and drinking water for affected households and arrange temporary evacuation points. At the same time, the commune prepared necessary materials and necessities to ensure the safety of people in case of continued floods.

According to Vice Chairman of Soc Son Commune People's Committee - Bui Kim Thoa, the commune has directed the implementation of remedial measures and inspections at heavily flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides. In particular, the road to Thanh Giong Monument has some landslides with hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil blocking the road; the authorities have set up warning fences, blocked the road and coordinated with authorities to handle the situation.
A representative of the Soc Son Commune Civil Defense Command said that the flooding situation may continue because the water level of the Ca Lo River continues to rise and heavy rain has not stopped. The commune government is closely monitoring weather developments and preparing plans to relocate people in low-lying areas if the water level continues to rise, to ensure absolute safety for people and property during the rainy and stormy season.
