On April 11, Nam Nung Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that they had just coordinated with Quang Phu Forest Protection Department to re-release a king cobra weighing more than 5kg back to its natural environment.

Previously, while watering a coffee garden near the Dak Mang irrigation dam (Nam Nung commune), Mr. Pham Thanh Tuyen discovered a king cobra individual.
Recognizing the danger level as well as the conservation value of this species, Mr. Tuyen did not arbitrarily handle it but quickly contacted functional agencies to coordinate the arrest.
Upon receiving the report, Nam Nung Commune Police coordinated with Quang Phu Forest Protection Department to be present and organize the safe arrest of the snake individual.
After completing the procedures, functional forces released the snake back into the natural environment at Nam Nung Nature Reserve, ensuring proper procedures, safety for people and contributing to protecting the ecosystem.
According to Quang Phu Forest Protection Department, king cobras are endangered, precious and rare animals belonging to group IB, strictly protected by law. All acts of hunting and trading this species are handled according to regulations.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tuyen's action is considered a beautiful gesture, showing a sense of law compliance and a sense of responsibility in protecting nature.
