On April 6, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms under Kon Ka Kinh National Park said that the unit will organize the release of 8 endangered, precious, and rare forest animal individuals back to the natural environment after a period of rescue, care and active recovery.
The release location is in Sub-area 432, belonging to the forest area managed by Kon Ka Kinh National Park. This release includes 5 species of animals on the list of endangered, precious, and rare (groups IB and IIB), which play an important role in balancing and maintaining the natural forest ecosystem. Specifically including: white-headed kite; bird's flower kite of Burma; pig-tailed macaque; Java pangolin; small loris.
All of the above animals were received in the period from February to March 2026, through voluntary handover by people and the coordination of functional agencies in Gia Lai province. This is a positive sign, showing that community awareness in protecting wildlife is increasingly being raised.
When first received, many individuals were in poor health, even seriously injured. Typically, the bird kite bird has broken wings and paralyzed legs; the Java pangolin and white-headed kite are depleted. Other individuals such as pig-tailed macaques and small loris also need special care and monitoring.
Through a professional rescue process, including veterinary treatment, appropriate nutrition and restoration of wild behavior, the Center has gradually helped individuals restore their health and survival ability.
The results of the periodic inspection in early April 2026 confirmed that all 8 individuals were in good health, restored their natural instincts and had sufficient conditions to live independently in the forest environment.
