Previously, on May 25, after receiving a report from people about the discovery of a wild animal in the field area in hamlet 2, Phuoc Ha commune, Phuoc Ha Commune Police coordinated with local authorities and Thuan Nam - Ninh Phuoc Forest Protection Department to organize inspection and verification.
Through verification, the animal individual was identified as hoang, scientific name Muntiacus vaginalis (formerly Muntiacus muntjak), belonging to the deer family.
This is a forest animal belonging to Group IIB in the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals that are restricted from exploitation and use for commercial purposes according to legal regulations.
After checking the health status, functional forces took care of, monitored and released the gaur into the natural environment to contribute to biodiversity conservation and protection of wildlife resources.
Phuoc Ha Commune Police recommends that when people discover wild animals or strange, rare animal species, they should quickly notify the functional agencies for inspection and handling according to regulations.
People should not arbitrarily hunt, farm, buy, sell, transport or harm wildlife in any form.
