On July 18, news from the People's Committee of Cong Hai commune said that it had organized an inauguration ceremony and handed over a house to the family of Mr. Katơr Da (born in 1979), the biological son of a resistance activist infected with chemical toxins.
After nearly a month of construction, the house was completed with an area of 37m2, with a solid structure, corrugated iron roof, tiled floor and closed auxiliary works.
The total cost of building the house is 120 million VND. Of which, 60 million VND is supported from the "For the Poor" Fund allocated by the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the remaining funding is contributed and supported by agencies, units and businesses in the area.
During the construction process, officers and soldiers of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard and local forces directly supported nearly 100 working days, contributing to the early completion of the project.
Mr. Katơr Da suffered from chemical toxin sequelae, congenital deafness and muteness, limited health, so his family's life faced many difficulties.
Every day, he mainly does general labor jobs such as picking cow dung, digging bamboo shoots and helping his family.
For many years, his family has had to live in a temporary house that has deteriorated and is not safe, especially during the rainy and storm season.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Katơr Da received a new house with the congratulations of local authorities, agencies, units and people. The solid house helps the family have a safer place to live, replacing the temporary house that has been degraded for many years.
Being supported to build a new house is a great source of encouragement for Mr. Katơr Da's family, helping the family to feel secure and stabilize their lives and work, production.
