Hospitals give love through spring lucky money envelopes

Ho Chi Minh City - On February 17, many hospitals gave lucky money at the beginning of spring to patients staying for treatment, bringing joy and encouragement during Tet away from home.

In the early days of Binh Ngo spring 2026, when many families gather at reunion meals, at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, spring is still quietly present in a very unique way, with care and warm sharing.

Currently being treated at the Department of Musculoskeletal Internal Medicine, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, facility 2, Ms. N.T. O could not hide her emotion when mentioning her special Tet. With weak health, she had to stay at the hospital even though the house was not too far away. "These days being visited and encouraged by the hospital, I have felt warm in my heart. Today I received lucky money at the beginning of the year again, it is really very happy and touching," she shared.

On the morning of the 1st day of Tet (February 17), the Board of Directors and leaders of departments of Gia Dinh People's Hospital and departments directly presented 450 lucky money envelopes (100,000 VND/envelope) to inpatients at the two facilities. The red envelopes not only carry material meaning but also send wishes for peace and early recovery, as a word of encouragement for patients to confidently step into the new year.

With the same spirit, at Thu Duc City Hospital, on the evening of the 29th of Tet, when the streets were bustling preparing to welcome New Year's Eve, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chi presented 100 lucky money envelopes with a total budget of 5 million VND to patients being treated.

Representatives of the Trade Union and Youth Union of the hospital directly visited, sent Tet greetings and handed over each envelope in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.

Amidst the corridors still faintly smelling of antiseptic, handshakes, New Year greetings and small lucky money envelopes have ignited hope. For many patients, Tet this year may not be complete, but that care has helped the spring in the hospital become closer and more loving.
