Dedicated to caring for and treating patients
The Intensive Care and Poison Control Department, Tay Nguyen Regional General Hospital is the place to receive and treat many severe cases, most of which require long-term hospitalization.
For more than 3 months, Ms. Vu Thi Loan (Cu Prao commune) has been on duty to take care of her father with pulmonary fibrosis. Since her father was hospitalized, she has sent her child to her husband at home. The house is about 100km from the hospital, so she only visits her family once every 2-3 weeks.
“The family has tried every way to cover the treatment costs, but my father's condition has not improved. Fortunately, the doctors and nurses at the department are very dedicated. Every day I can visit my father 3 times, and when there is urgent work, conditions are also created,” Ms. Loan shared.
According to her, during Tet, the team of doctors and nurses is still on duty, regularly visiting and encouraging relatives. On New Year's Eve, they put aside their personal joy to try to save seriously ill patients, making their families even more deeply understand that silent sacrifice.

Mr. Pham Van Hung (Ea Rok commune) whose father was hospitalized due to a stroke on February 14. After many sleepless nights, he could not hide his fatigue.
“Sometimes we thought our father would hardly survive, but thanks to the doctor's dedication, he has passed the critical condition and gradually recovered. The words of thanks may not be enough to express the whole gratitude of the family,” Mr. Hung expressed.
According to Mr. Hung, during Tet days, the number of emergency cases increases, many serious cases and unexpected accidents. However, he has never seen doctors complain. They always gently explain the illness, encourage families to maintain their spirit and guide how to take care of patients thoughtfully.

24/24 hour on-duty
Currently, the Emergency Department, Tay Nguyen Regional General Hospital is the main unit, receiving patients before transferring them to specialized departments for treatment.
During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the department organizes 24/24 hour duty; each tour includes 3 doctors, 12 nurses and reserve forces ready to strengthen.

Doctor Nguyen Quang Son - Head of the Emergency Department - said that the department has 13 doctors, 50 nurses, basically meeting the needs of medical examination and treatment during Tet.
However, in the first days of the year, the number of cases usually increases, mainly due to traffic accidents, food poisoning, firecracker incidents and fires.
For severe and critical cases, the hospital activates the "red alert" process throughout the hospital, mobilizing specialist doctors to coordinate emergency treatment, shortening emergency time and improving the patient's chances of survival.
