On the afternoon of January 30, Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station (Command of Hue City Border Guard Command) held a conference to summarize models, programs, and movements of Border Guards participating in economic, cultural, and social development in border areas in the period 2015 - 2025.
In the period 2015 - 2025, Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station has thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented resolutions and directives of superiors on mass mobilization work; proactively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to build and implement many models and programs suitable to the characteristics of the sea border area. Thereby, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, promoting socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security in the area.
In the past 10 years, the unit has coordinated to organize 200 centralized propaganda sessions with nearly 16,000 participants; issued more than 5,000 leaflets; built 20 banners and posters; organized 24 stage propaganda sessions. In addition, 300 propaganda news and articles were posted on local social networking sites; maintained propaganda on the grassroots loudspeaker system with a duration of 2 hours/week. Through the activities of safe boat teams, people actively participate in protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security at sea, providing many valuable sources of information to serve crime prevention and control.
Implementing the movement "Border Guards join hands to build new rural areas" and programs to help people eradicate hunger and reduce poverty, Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station effectively maintains the models "Raising Steps for Children to School", "Gratitude Rice Jar", "Legal Bookshelf"; organizes activities "Border and Island Spring - Tet Full of Military-Civilian Affection", "March Border". In 10 years, the unit has supported the construction of 9 houses with a total budget of 90 million VND; contributed more than 500 working days to help people; organized the collection and treatment of over 50m3 of waste to protect the environment; visited and presented more than 50 gifts to policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Colonel Le Hong Tuyen praised and acknowledged the achievements of Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station; and at the same time requested the unit to continue to replicate effective models, proactively research and create new ways of doing things suitable to the actual situation of Hue City in the new development stage, contributing to building an increasingly solid all-people border defense posture.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee commended 2 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing models and programs in the 2015–2025 period. Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station also presented 7 gifts to poor students and households in difficult circumstances through the program "Raising Steps for Children to School" and the "Rice Jar of Love" model.
