Ho Chi Minh City - Many parents continue to come to Luong The Vinh Primary School to request the school to clarify issues related to the color-changing pork incident.

On the evening of January 30, dozens of parents of students continued to come to Luong The Vinh Primary School (Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to request the school to clarify issues related to discolored pork.

Parents believe that the school's notices are still not clear and transparent. In which, the school has not publicly announced the name of the contracting company, business address and content in the food supply contract. Parents requested clarification of the inspection and handling process, explaining why they did not report to the management agency to resolve when detecting suspected unsafe food.

Besides, why when the food supplier violates the contract, does the school not immediately switch to another unit but continue to extend the contract?

According to records, dozens of parents were present at Luong The Vinh Primary School from 6 pm to 8 pm to request the school to continue clarifying the above-mentioned issues. Some parents also said that if they do not handle thoroughly and clarify, they will let their children temporarily drop out of school.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on January 25, the incident of pork discoloration preparing to be smuggled into the kitchen of Luong The Vinh Primary School, Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City was stirred up online.

Some parents reflected that during a surprise inspection of food brought into the kitchen, the team discovered 90 kg of frozen pork ribs suspected of being of poor quality. Among them, some portions of pork had turned yellow and green. The above incident caused concern for parents about food safety and hygiene issues.

Ben Cat Ward People's Committee confirmed that the incident occurred. However, according to Ben Cat Ward People's Committee, all 90 kg that did not meet quality requirements were recorded and returned to the supplier.

On January 26, many parents came to the school to request the Board of Directors to clarify the incident.

On January 30, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hanh - Principal of Luong The Vinh Primary School issued a document announcing the termination of the contract with the food supplier. The contract termination time is February 28, 2026, because the selection of a new contractor needs to be carefully appraised according to the correct procedures. At the same time, at this time, it is close to the Lunar New Year, and procedures cannot be carried out immediately in a short time.

However, the school's solutions have not yet been agreed upon by parents.
