Fennel for common good
Tan Tien commune, Hung Yen province is a large, densely populated area, but the main traffic system connecting to National Highway 10 - Provincial Road DT455 has degraded and is narrow, not meeting the needs of travel and freight transportation. This situation has caused many difficulties for people's daily life and production and directly affected the socio-economic development of the locality.
Faced with that reality, the land donation movement to open roads was initiated by the local government and received strong support from the people. Mr. Pham Van Vinh - Secretary of the Tan Tien Commune Party Committee shared that the local policy is in line with the people's wishes, creating a foundation for many projects to upgrade and expand traffic routes to be quickly implemented. Thanks to the consensus of the people, the infrastructure works are gradually coming to serve community life, contributing to improving the face of the countryside.

In this movement, many typical examples are recorded, especially those who are willing to donate land to other households, demonstrating the spirit of "for the common good rather than personal gain". A typical example is Party member Dang Quang Trung, 57 years old, from Quan Dinh Nam village. Although the cleared land area did not belong to his family's fields, Mr. Trung discussed with his family and exchanged the land to donate 1,582 m2 of land to the State, helping the DT455 project to be implemented smoothly. Mr. Trung expressed:
"Some people have fields in the project but do not donate. I don't have a plot of land to clear, but I thought if I exchanged it for them to take my plot of land, I would give them a donation, it would be beautiful. As a Party member, I have to be exemplary and take the lead, donating fields for the common good".
Mr. Trung's actions spread strongly. Many people in the commune have also actively responded, typically Ms. Nguyen Thi Mung ( Quan Dinh Nam village) donated more than 100 m2 of land to another household. Many other families also donated from 648 m2 to 1,818 m2 of land, creating conditions for the project to soon have a site to implement.
"Do as much as you give"
Not only in Tan Tien commune, the land donation movement has also spread to other localities. In Quynh Phu commune, Ms. Pham Thi Bat (Dong Xa village) voluntarily donated more than 100 m2 of agricultural land, although not her family's land, to open an inland road. Ms. Bat shared that in the past, the road was narrow, the fields were low, and agricultural production was very difficult. Now that the road has been expanded, the ditch system is complete, and production is much more convenient, she happily said: "As much as you donate, you donate, all for the common good of the community".
Also a typical example, the family of Mr. Ha Van Ngoc and his wife Mrs. Vu Thi Hoan (Tay Le Van village, A Sao commune) donated more than 280 m2 of land - including a solid house built in 2022 - to open a new 7-meter wide road. Thanks to that, 19 households along the river have convenient travel conditions.

Mr. Ngoc confided: "We know there is damage but it is beautiful for the whole people, beautiful for society. I thought about the future of my children and grandchildren so I decided to donate the land."
The land donation of Mr. Ngoc and other families not only helps to clear the road but also creates a positive effect, encouraging the community to participate. Mr. Nguyen Van Tu - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of A Sao commune assessed that without the consensus of the leading households, the roads would be difficult to complete with the appearance as today.
It can be seen that the movement to donate land to open roads in Hung Yen has become a widespread movement, enthusiastically responded to by people from many communes. From the 94-year-old man to party members, union members, all are united with the government to implement it, in order to build spacious rural transportation, convenient for production and daily life.
