At about 9:30 am on February 2nd, on the road from Nga 6 to Nguyen Trai street, Hai Phong, when reaching the back gate of the old Hai Duong Provincial Police, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang picked up a brown handbag. Inside the handbag were (22.7 million VND), two taels of gold, 1 bank card with more than 300 million VND in the account, 1 mobile phone and some other personal papers.
Immediately after discovering it, Mr. Thang brought all the property to Thanh Dong Ward Police to hand over, hoping to return it to the person who dropped it.
Upon receiving the information, the Commander of Thanh Dong Ward Police directed officers and soldiers to urgently deploy professional measures. In a short time, the police force identified the owner as Ms. Du Thi Ha (born in 1966, permanent residence in Dong Dang, Lang Son). During traffic on Nguyen Trai street, this woman carelessly dropped her handbag. All assets were then handed over to her.
When receiving the property back, Ms. Du Thi Ha was moved and wrote a letter thanking Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang for his honest and humane actions, and at the same time expressed her appreciation for the spirit of responsibility, speed and timeliness of the leadership and officers of Thanh Dong Ward Police in verifying and returning the property.
