Young wife donates husband's organs to continue life

Despite the extreme pain, the wife still decided to donate the organs of her late husband, giving the two patients a chance to live.

The pain of losing her husband has not yet subsided, Ms. V.T.D (38 years old, Hanoi) still makes a humane decision - donating the organs of her late partner to help patients who are on the brink of life and death.

Her husband, Mr. N.M.H (44 years old), unfortunately had a serious traffic accident, leading to multiple injuries. Despite doctors' efforts to treat him, the miracle did not happen. Amid the extreme pain, Ms. D. proactively contacted the hospital to give her a priceless gift - life.

"We donate organs to be a blessing, to continue life. Those who receive my husband's heart and liver, please respect him. With my mother and I, he will always live in my heart" - Ms. D choked up as she shared.

In the quiet space in the recovery room, Ms. D and her three young children held his hand tightly and said goodbye to her husband and beloved father. When the third brain-dead assessment was completed in accordance with regulations, the team of doctors bowed their heads to take a minute of silence - expressing gratitude to the donor, who gave life to them at the last moment of their life.

On March 12, doctors at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital took and transplanted organs, reviving the lives of two patients who were lucky enough to receive organs from Mr. H. The liver transplant was successful, the patient was alert, and could talk immediately after the intubation. The heart recipient - who was facing the death penalty for end-stage heart failure - gradually stabilized, a new heart was beating at the first steps in the journey to regeneration.

For three consecutive days (October 10, 12, 13, 2025), at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, three families made a noble decision when donating organs to a brain-dead loved one. These gestures not only bring the opportunity to revive many patients but also send a strong message of compassion and sharing.

Each gift of life given not only helps those who receive organs have the opportunity to start over, but also lights up hope for hundreds of other patients - those who still hope for a miracle day and night. Somewhere, amid the painful losses, life continues, like an endless flow of love.
