On February 24, the Nghe An Red Cross Society announced that it had just launched a movement to donate tissues, organs and human body parts to call for love and spread the spirit of sharing in the community.
Responding to the call of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh "Registering to donate organs to save people is the most beautiful act of love and grace", Nghe An Red Cross Society has actively organized communication and training courses to propagate and mobilize people to register to donate.

Since 2020, these activities have been maintained annually, contributing to increasing the number of volunteers donating after death.
Mr. Lo Truong Chinh, from Con Cuong district, shared: "I learned and realized that donating tissues, organs and body parts will last forever, and is also an opportunity to live for many patients, so I volunteered to register to donate when I was unfortunately brain-dead".
Ms. Vo Thi Loan in Nghi Thiet, Nghi Loc registered to donate tissues and organs with the opinion: "I watch TV and see that there are cases that need heart transplants, I feel very sympathetic, but if I want a heart for a heart transplant, it must be donated from a person, so when I learned that the Provincial Red Cross Society received the registration documents, I volunteered to come and submit an application to donate body parts after my death".
To date, more than 100 people in Nghe An have registered to donate tissues, organs and parts of the body of people after brain death.
According to statistics, Vietnam has about 6,000 people needing kidney transplants, more than 1,500 people waiting for liver transplants and approximately 300,000 blind people hoping to have the opportunity to see the light again thanks to cornea transplants.
To date, Vietnam has performed more than 8,000 organ transplants, many of which have been successful, bringing new life to patients. There are currently 29 hospitals nationwide performing organ transplants.
However, the source of organs from brain-dead people is still limited. Only 4% of all organ transplants are from this source, while there are about 300 brain deaths per day in Vietnam. Increasing awareness and motivation for tissue and organ donation is very important to expand the chance of survival for thousands of patients.
spreading the spirit of humanity and encouraging people to overcome psychological barriers and traditional concepts is very important. With passion and specific actions, all levels, sectors and individuals can contribute to sowing seeds of hope and connecting lives.
A brain-dead person donating organs can save 8 lives and improve the lives of more than 70 people, while spreading the humane message "When you die, you will always live".
