Implementing the decision of the Central Military Commission on recruiting professional soldiers for individuals with outstanding achievements in bravely saving people and property of the people, Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group organized a ceremony to present the decision to employee Nguyen Duc Tai for his brave act of saving a girl in a landslide in Ha Giang last July.
Accordingly, at the end of August, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), Deputy Minister of National Defense signed Decision No. 3912/QD-BQP on the recruitment of professional soldiers with Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai - Station technical staff of Viettel Construction Corporation.
Mr. Tai received the rank of Lieutenant in professional military.
Previously, in the horrific landslide that occurred in the early morning of July 13 in Bac Me district (Ha Giang) that killed 11 people and injured 4 others, in a moment of extreme danger, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai, on his way to respond to information, did not hesitate to rush in to save the life of a 7-year-old girl.
His actions also demonstrate the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the culture of Viettel people is for the people, always standing side by side with the people in all circumstances. Being recruited directly into the professional army is a great recognition of the Ministry of National Defense for the bravery of Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai.
As the leader handing over the decision, Deputy General Director of the Group Dao Xuan Vu shared: “This is not only about recruiting professional soldiers, but also recruiting a typical example, bravely saving people for Viettel Group. Examples like comrade Tai are very necessary to spread and praise”.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai was moved and sent his thanks to the Ministry of National Defense, the Group's leaders and Viettel Construction Corporation. "I believe that anyone in Viettel would have handled my situation the same way. Personally, I did not think that my small actions would have received such attention from the Head of the Ministry of National Defense and the Group's leaders. My family and I truly thank the Ministry of National Defense and the Group for creating conditions for me to become a soldier. I promise to continue to strive and train myself for the development of the People's Army and the Group" - Lieutenant Nguyen Duc Tai shared.
