These days, on social networks, there are many calls for help from people in the flood zone, wanting to be taken out of the flooded area or to be supported with life jackets, flashlights...
Immediately, the online community, philanthropists, and people from all provinces and cities across the country joined hands to help in the spirit of mutual love.
Since late afternoon on September 10, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan (Sam Son, Thanh Hoa) and some friends and relatives have gone to Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces to provide relief to people in distress.
By the evening of the same day, Ms. Ngan was present in Yen Bai city, which was in a state of severe flooding.
Previously, she and many individuals and organizations connected and mobilized many essential equipment, supplies, and items such as: 200 life jackets, hundreds of flashlights, milk cakes, and bottled water, to support people in Yen Bai province.
From Thanh Hoa, she contacted the local authorities for instructions and arrangements to move as quickly as possible. Ms. Ngan said that her support convoy was divided into two, departing from Sam Son and Thanh Hoa City Center respectively.
“Seeing the floodwaters rising and many places being isolated, we understood that we needed to act immediately. We just wanted to be there to support people as soon as possible,” Ms. Ngan shared.
Her hometown in Thach That, Hanoi is also currently flooded in some places, but Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung (born in 1988) and her younger brother are looking for a supplier of food, water and life jackets to buy to support people in the northern mountainous region.
"The two sisters collected food from some neighboring places. In addition to keeping it at home for the family to use during the rainy and flooded days, the rest was brought to Yen Bai city to support the people. We left this morning (September 11) and are already in Yen Bai" - Ms. Nhung said.
According to Ms. Nhung, as long as there is flooding, the two sisters will continue to support food and drinks for the people. Seeing this "helping hand in hand" activity in difficult times, many local people volunteered to contribute and arrange things before Ms. Nhung arrived in Yen Bai.
And the cases of Ms. Ngan and Ms. Nhung are just two of many kind-hearted people who are working day and night to urgently donate and provide timely support to people in flood-affected areas.
"In difficult times, I clearly see the caring hearts of the Vietnamese people" - Ms. Nhung shared.
