According to sharing on social networking groups, Ms. Ngoc Ha (character name changed) said that her family was not well-off before, but she and her husband always tried to make their son have a more fulfilling life. Up to now, the family's economy has stabilized, and the boy is not a wasteful spender, so his needs, except for extra classes that are too expensive, are almost all met by his parents.
Not only that, the couple also gives their children pocket money so that they are proactive in daily life.
However, as he grew older, the boy became more unapproachable. The mother said that her son is very irritable, does not like his parents to ask questions or interfere in things related to him. Just a common question can make him uncomfortable.
What makes her even sadder is her child's indifference when parents have health problems.
My husband and I sometimes get sick, even stay in the hospital for many days, but my child almost doesn't ask. I don't need my child to do anything big, just a question'Did Mom and Dad get better?' makes me feel warm," Ms. Ha shared.
According to her, when parents are tired and cannot manage all housework, her son rarely takes the initiative to share. There are days when he knows his mother is not well, he finds ways to go out and come home very late to avoid having to cook, dry clothes or do other housework.
She recalled a time when her son went to school from morning until about 9 pm before returning. During the day, the mother texted him to remind him to eat fully. At about 10 pm, after returning from work, she still asked her son with the care of a mother: "Are you tired, have you eaten anything yet?". However, instead of answering, he showed an uncomfortable attitude.
The mother tried to explain that she only asked because she was worried that her child would go to school all day, and had absolutely no intention of blaming or controlling. But the received answer made her heart ache. "You talked too much about me, go take a bath," she recounted.
When the two mothers and sons continued to argue, the boy said he was tired and didn't like talking. The conflict then became tense when he pushed and chased his mother out of the room.
She believes that what hurts her the most is not a harsh sentence but the feeling that her efforts and sacrifices seem not to be recognized by her child.
I have never thought that raising children is for them to repay gratitude later. I just hope my children grow up to know how to love, respect and think for others. But day by day I feel more and more helpless," Ms. Ha confided.
What makes the mother embarrassed is that her son has very good academic achievements. Therefore, she and her husband cannot say that their son is incompetent or has no future.
Conversely, it is the fact that her child is good at studying but has a way of behaving that hurts her parents that makes her not know where to start changing.
My child is very good at studying, I have never put pressure on her grades. But I am afraid that later when my child steps out into society, if she does not know how to behave, does not know how to care about others, her academic achievements will not solve all problems," the mother said.
She admitted that she wanted to be stricter many times but was afraid of pushing her child away. If she continued to be gentle, she would worry that her child would think that parents could be treated in any way.
Now I really don't know how to teach my child. If I speak softly, my child won't listen, if I speak strongly, my child will react even more. I am both angry, pity, and helpless," Ms. Ha shared.
