On January 21, information from Dien Bien Provincial Police said that at about 6 am on January 20, local people discovered the body of the Nam Rom River in the Muong Thanh bridge area, Dien Bien Phu ward.
Immediately after receiving the news, professional units of the Provincial Police were present at the scene, organized to blockade and protect the scene, salvage the body and conduct investigation and verification.
Initial inspection determined that the victim was a man who had died for many days, the body was soaked in water, in the process of decomposition and had no personal papers or other information, causing difficulties for identification.
By professional measures, at about 4 pm on January 20, Dien Bien Provincial Police identified the victim as Mr. Dinh Van Ch. (born 1997, permanent residence in Trung Son Bich Dao street, Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province).
Initial examination results determined that the cause of death was suffocation. Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies according to legal regulations.
