Ho Chi Minh City - Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will officially operate on December 22, 2024, concluding a 12-year construction journey with many memorable milestones.

Ngay 28.8.2012, UBND TPHCM to chuc le khoi cong xay dung tuyen Metro so 1 dai 19,7 km, trong do 2,6 km di ngam va 17,1 km di tren cao. Tong muc dau tu du an hon 43.700 ti dong.
On August 28, 2012, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Metro Line 1, 19.7 km long, of which 2.6 km is underground and 17.1 km is elevated. The total investment of the project is over 43,700 billion VND.
Ngay 4/6/2015, doan tren cao Metro so 1 bat dau lap dat dam cau. Moi dot dam chu U nang 42 tan duoc duc san, van chuyen va ghep 13 dot thanh mot nhip. Toan bo 17,1 km tren cao lap 4.563 dot, tao thanh 372 nhip cau can.
On June 4, 2015, the elevated section of Metro Line 1 began installing bridge girders. Each U-shaped girder weighs 42 tons and was precast, transported and assembled into 13 sections into a span. The entire 17.1 km elevated section has 4,563 sections, forming 372 viaduct spans.

Ngay 26.5.2017, may khoan ham TBM nang 300 tan da dao duong ham dau tien dai 781 m ket noi nha ga ngam Ba Son va ga Nha hat TP cua tuyen metro so 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien). Day la lan dau tien cong nghe khien dao TBM duoc ung dung trong thi cong cong trinh do thi o Viet Nam.
On May 26, 2017, a 300-ton TBM tunnel boring machine dug the first 781-meter-long tunnel connecting Ba Son underground station and the City Theater station of Metro Line 1. This is the first time TBM shield technology has been applied in urban construction in Vietnam.

Ngay 31.10.2017, may khoan ham TBM da dao xong duong ham, lap ghep 3.900 tam vo ham. Ngay 29.6.2018, ham metro thu 2 noi ga Ba Son va ga Nha hat Thanh pho cung hoan thanh.

On October 31, 2017, the TBM tunnel boring machine completed the tunnel and assembled 3,900 tunnel lining panels. On June 29, 2018, the second metro tunnel connecting Ba Son station and City Theater station was also completed.
Ngay 8.10.2020, ba toa tau dau tien cua tuyen Metro so 1 duoc van chuyen tu Nhat Ban ve cang Khanh Hoi (TPHCM). Ngay 6.5.2022, hai doan tau cuoi cung trong tong so 17 doan tau cua tuyen Metro so 1 duoc nhap ve TPHCM.
On October 8, 2020, the first three train cars of Metro Line 1 were transported from Japan to Khanh Hoi Port (HCMC). On May 6, 2022, the last two trains of the total 17 trains of Metro Line 1 were imported to HCMC.
Ngay 19.2.2021, Metro so 1 bat dau thi cong he thong cap dien, ket noi nguon tu hai tram 110kV Binh Thai va Tan Cang de cap dien cho cac nha ga. Day la buoc chuyen tu xay dung ket cau sang chuan bi van hanh thu.
On February 19, 2021, Metro Line 1 began construction of the power supply system, connecting power from two 110kV stations Binh Thai and Tan Cang to supply power to the stations. This is the transition from structural construction to preparation for trial operation.
Ngay 21.12.2022, doan tau Metro so 1 lan dau chay thu qua 5 nha ga tren cao (Suoi Tien, Dai hoc Quoc gia, Cong nghe cao, Thu Duc, Binh Thai) voi hanh trinh gan 9 km. Su kien danh dau du an Metro so 1 chuyen tu giai doan hoan thien thi cong sang thu nghiem.
On December 21, 2022, Metro train No. 1 ran its first test run through 5 elevated stations (Suoi Tien, National University, High Technology, Thu Duc, Binh Thai) with a journey of nearly 9 km. The event marked the transition of Metro project No. 1 from the construction completion phase to the testing phase.

On August 29, 2023, Metro train No. 1 first tested the entire route of nearly 20 km through 11 elevated stations and 3 underground stations.
Ngay 30/8/2024, nhom hoc vien nguoi Viet thuoc Cong ty Duong sat do thi so 1 (HURC1) lan dau truc tiep van hanh thu toan tuyen Metro so 1. Day la co hoi de cac hoc vien thuc hanh va tich luy kinh nghiem thuc te, san sang dam nhan nhiem vu khi tuyen metro chinh thuc khai thac.
On August 30, 2024, a group of Vietnamese students from Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) directly tested the entire Metro Line No. 1 for the first time. This is an opportunity for students to practice and accumulate practical experience, ready to take on the task when the metro line is officially put into operation.

Doi voi ve thang, muc gia ap dung 300.000 dong moi khach; hoc sinh, sinh vien duoc giam 50%, con 150.000 dong/thang. Ngoai cac loai ve tren, khach co the mua ve mot ngay hoac ba ngay, lan luot 40.000 dong va 90.000 dong, khong gioi han luot di.
During the first month, passengers on Metro Line 1 are exempted from tickets. From January 21, 2025, Metro Line 1 will start selling tickets for 6,000 VND - 20,000 VND/trip. For monthly tickets, the price is 300,000 VND per passenger; students get a 50% discount, down to 150,000 VND/month. In addition to the above types of tickets, passengers can buy one-day or three-day tickets, 40,000 VND and 90,000 VND respectively, with no limit on trips.
