HUE - In the days near the end of July, engineers, workers and hundreds of machines are busy constructing the expansion of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway.
The project to invest in building and expanding the North-South expressway in the East, Cam Lo - La Son section, has a total length of 98.73km. In which, the section through Hue City is about 62.72km long, passing through 11 communes and wards.According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper in the days near the end of July, the construction atmosphere on the section passing through Hue City was urgent. Contractors simultaneously deployed excavation, roadbed embankment, crushed stone base construction, asphalt concrete paving, construction of bridges, culverts, underpasses and weak soil treatment.On many sections of the route, the expanded road has been excavated, filled with soil and foundations have been constructed. Contractors organize construction in parallel with maintaining traffic on the existing road.Machinery and construction vehicles operate continuously along the route. Both construction and exploitation make the work of traffic diversion, warning and ensuring traffic safety strict.In areas that have met the conditions, the contractor is deploying foundation construction and road surface paving. Some sections of the route have clearly shown the expanded road section lying parallel to the expressway being operated.The Cam Lo - La Son expressway currently has a high density of vehicles, especially North-South freight trucks.Excavators, trucks and specialized equipment are mobilized at roadbed expansion locations. At the construction site, many items are being deployed simultaneously to compensate for progress in hot weather conditions.The entire project currently maintains 133 construction fronts, including 95 road fronts and 38 bridge fronts.Workers are working at the construction site in harsh hot weather. Many locations are almost shady, dust is continuously generated due to excavation and transportation of materials.Mr. Le Van Mong (pink hat), a worker working at the construction site, said that work on hot sunny days is very hard, especially in positions where direct work is required on the road surface. "Brothers take advantage of working early, arranging alternating breaks during hot sunny times. The work is hard, but everyone tries to complete the assigned tasks, contributing to bringing the project to completion on schedule" - Mr. Mong shared.Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (the project investor) said that the cumulative output of the entire project currently reaches 1,232.64/4,349.21 billion VND, equivalent to about 28.3% of the construction contract value. Contractors basically mobilize human resources and machinery to closely follow the progress requirements, aiming to complete the project in December 2026.
The project to invest in building and expanding the North-South expressway in the east of the Cam Lo - La Son section has a total length of nearly 99 km, connecting Quang Tri - Hue provinces. The project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board with a total capital of more than 6,400 billion VND. Construction started at the end of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The road is expanded with the roadbed, road surface and works on the route from a scale of 2 lanes to 4 complete lanes, meeting technical standards of a level 80 expressway.
The project includes 2 main construction packages: Package XL1 (Km0+000 - Km37+300) constructed by the consortium of Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, Construction Transport Joint Stock Company No. 1, Khanh Hoa Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company, Construction Service and Trading Joint Stock Company 68, Hugia Investment Development Joint Stock Company.
Package XL2 (Km37+300 - Km102+200) is managed by a consortium of Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company, Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, Truong Son Construction Corporation, Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., Thanh An Corporation.
