Phu Tho - Despite being involved in a series of violations and being asked to stop, the quartz powder production line in the brick factory in Van Xuan commune is still operating freely.
The project to invest in the construction of AAC air-cured concrete brick factory (Project) of Vietnam Air-cured Concrete Joint Stock Company (Company) - was granted an investment certificate by Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee in 2010 in Dong Dau area, Co Tiet commune, Tam Nong district (now Van Xuan commune).According to the conclusion of the Phu Tho Provincial Inspectorate, although it has been extended many times, the Project is still more than 5 years behind schedule compared to the most recent extended time.Along with that, this enterprise has increased its charter capital to 500 billion VND even though the new shareholders only contributed more than 17 billion VND, violating the provisions of the 2020 Enterprise Law.Not only that, the inspection agency concluded that the Company also violated legal regulations in the fields of land, construction, environmental protection and water resources.In particular, instead of building a brick factory as licensed, in January 2025, the Company arbitrarily installed a quartz powder production technology line with a designed capacity of 60,000 tons of products/year.Faced with the above-mentioned series of violations, the Phu Tho Provincial Inspectorate requested the Company not to produce quartz powder without the approval of state agencies.However, according to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of March 7, the quartz powder production line is still operating rampantly: Workers are controlling machinery, raw materials are being gathered, conveyor belts are operating normally... Production makes the entire area become dirty, mottled by mud, soil, rocks...Receiving feedback from Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, a leader of Van Xuan Commune People's Committee said that he would direct specialized agencies to conduct an inspection, and after having the results, he would inform reporters.

Previously, the Phu Tho Provincial Inspectorate proposed that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee direct the Van Xuan Commune People's Committee:
Inspect, supervise, and urge the Company to fully comply with the provisions of law on investment, land, construction, water resources, environmental protection... Promptly detect, handle or propose handling violations according to the provisions of law.
At the same time, organize a review of the responsibilities of collectives and individuals in urging the implementation of the decision to sanction administrative violations of the Chairman of Tam Nong District People's Committee (old) and allowing the Company to install a quartz powder production line without the approval of the Provincial People's Committee.
