The Southern region's gas is heating up through memories of war artifacts

The Military Region 9 Museum (Can Tho City) under the Political Department of Military Region 9 currently preserves tens of thousands of documents, images and artifacts associated with the fighting, construction and maturity process of the armed forces and people of the Mekong Delta in the two resistance wars.

The display space inside recreates historical stages from the resistance war against French colonialism, American imperialism to the fight to protect the southwestern border and carry out international missions in Cambodia. Southern Military Factory model. After the National Resistance Day (12/1946), many military factories were established in the South, both repairing and manufacturing weapons on site. Despite the extremely poor conditions, the factories still produce guns, mines, bazooka, SKZ... capable of destroying tanks and warships, contributing significantly to the victory of the resistance war against France.

Trong khang chien chong Phap, Tam Vu (nay thuoc xa Thanh Xuan, huyen Chau Thanh A, Hau Giang) la noi quan dan ta lien tiep gianh 4 chien thang (1946–1948). Tieu bieu la tran Tam Vu 1 (20/1/1946) diet dai ta Dessert – Tu lenh quan vien chinh Phap tai mien Tay, va tran Tam Vu 4 (19/4/1948) thu khau phao 105 mm dau tien, gan lien hinh anh “trau keo phao” di vao huyen thoai. Chien thang Tam Vu la moc son hao hung, khang dinh tinh than kien cuong, bat khuat cua quan dan Can Tho trong nhung nam dau khang Phap.

The Tam Vu Victory Complex (1946-1948). In the resistance war against the French, Tam Vu (in Thanh Xuan commune, Chau Thanh A district, old Hau Giang) was the place where our army and people won 4 consecutive victories. A typical example is the Tam Vu 1 battle (20.11946) that killed Colonel Dessert - Commander of the French Expedition in the West. And the Tam Vu 4 battle (April 19, 1948) took the first 105 mm cannon in the country and the image of buffaloes dragging firecrackers became a legend.

With rare original artifacts and vivid display, the Military Region 9 Museum is like a history page with images and artifacts, recounting the practical struggles of the army and people of the Mekong Delta. In the photo is the Working Book of Major General Le Phu Tuoi, former Political Commissar of Military Region 9, which he used during his time working at the 979 Cambodian Front from 1981-87.

To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Military Region 9 Museum also organizes a thematic exhibition "August Revolution - Historical milestone" introducing more than 300 images, documents, artifacts and more than 200 books expressing the spirit of the historic autumn of 1945. The exhibition will serve visitors until the end of September 2025.
