Hai Phong - According to the Economic Department of Do Son District (Hai Phong), the entire district has 17 landslides, some of which are very serious and require evacuation.

On the morning of September 30, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Ngo Viet Dong - Head of the Economic Division of Do Son District said that since storm No. 3 in August 2022, Do Son District had 7 major landslides. These landslides were repaired in 2023. By storm No. 3 on September 7, 17 new landslides had appeared in the area.

Of the 17 landslides, Van Huong ward has 10, Hai Son ward has 6 and Ngoc Xuyen ward has 1. Mr. Dinh Xuan Thuy - Vice Chairman of Van Huong ward People's Committee said that 4/10 landslides in the district are related to residential areas.

Because the local authorities had evacuated these areas before the storm, there were no human casualties. However, 7 houses were buried by rocks and soil, completely destroyed and unusable, 6 houses were severely damaged...

It is known that in the whole district, there are 4 households whose houses were washed away, collapsed, buried, and have no place to live; 46 households have not lost their houses, but are at very high risk of landslides, collapses, and cannot continue to live. All households have been relocated to new places, mainly to stay with relatives, 1 household has no relatives so the local authorities rented a temporary house.

Recently, Van Huong ward proposed to support storm damage to households whose houses were damaged by landslides, of which, 7 households were supported with 100 million VND/household to build new houses, 6 households were repaired with a cost of 20 million VND/household; 10 households in difficult circumstances, houses damaged with a support level of 10 million VND/household. The locality is also continuing to review to support households promptly and to the right subjects.
