The first stadium of Yen Bai city is being renovated with a new, modern look to serve the cultural and sports needs of the people.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper on November 4, at Yen Bai City Stadium, construction is underway to replace the soccer field and Marathon track.The field is under renovation.The historical site of the Stadium (Yen Bai City Stadium) is located in Hong Ha ward, about 600m west of Yen Bai station and about 1.2km from Yen Bai bus station in the same direction. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Son (54 years old, Hong Ha, Yen Bai city) said: "For the people of Yen Bai, this is not only a stadium but also a destination, an address for people and tourists to visit, burn incense to commemorate Uncle Ho, forever a place to preserve sacred memories of the great leader - President Ho Chi Minh in the hearts of the people of all ethnic groups in Yen Bai province".The relic was recognized as a national historical relic on November 16, 1988 by the decision of the Ministry of Culture (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).The stage is 10m long, 5.5m wide, 8.2m high and has 2 floors. The first floor has an area of 42m2, including 3 entrances, the second floor has a similar area, divided into 2 parts. The outer part is where President Ho Chi Minh stood to speak at the rally on September 25, 1958.In 2016, the Memorial Stage was renovated and upgraded with 7 construction items: Renovating and expanding the Uncle Ho memorial area and the two stands with a capacity of 4,300 seats, and building an auxiliary system.The memorial platform and the entire architecture of the Uncle Ho memorial area are designed in traditional architectural style, modeled after the Uncle Ho memorial architecture in Kim Lien - Nghe An, with materials mainly made of wood and imitation wood.Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Yen Bai City Construction Investment Project Management Board said that after the storm and flood, the natural grass surface and drainage system at Yen Bai City Stadium were severely damaged."The project of replacing the field's grass surface and dredging the field's sewers is part of the project to restore the works after the storm and flood with a total investment of 9.5 billion VND, expected to be completed on November 15 by Construction Joint Stock Company No. 2," the representative informed.Machinery is gathering on site to replace the turf.The Marathon course is also set to be replaced.
