Can Tho - At Can Tho City Museum, hundreds of Southern pottery artifacts are introduced, recreating the rustic beauty that is sophisticatedly associated with Southern life and culture.

Tu ngay 27 - 31.8.2025, tai Bao tang TP Can Tho dien ra chuyen de “Hoa cua dat”, gioi thieu hon 200 hien vat va anh tu lieu gom Nam Bo. Trung bay tai hien khong gian gom Cay Mai (Sai Gon), gom Bien Hoa (Dong Nai), gom Lai Thieu (Binh Duong) 3 dong gom noi tieng hinh thanh nen “tam giac gom” Nam Bo.
From December 27 to 31, 2025, the Can Tho City Museum will hold a seminar on "Flowers of the Earth", introducing more than 200 artifacts and documentary photos of Southern ceramics. The exhibition recreates the space of Cay Mai pottery (Saigon), Bien Hoa pottery (Dong Nai), Lai Thieu pottery (Binh Duong) 3 famous pottery lines that form the "three pottery triangle" of the South.

Cay Mai pottery is the name of a famous pottery line of the "Lo gom hamlet" in the ancient Saigon region, which developed brilliantly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was popular in all regions of the country. At the international exhibition in France in 1925, Bien Hoa pottery, famous for its international title Vert de Bienhoa ( Bien Hoa blue), contributed to bringing Vietnamese pottery art to the international arena. From simple clay, through the hands of talented artisans, Southern ceramics "flowered" to both serve daily life and become works of art with the soul of the land.
Nghe nhan Vinh Long gioi thieu ve quy trinh, ky thuat lam gom truyen thong. Gom Vinh Long mang sac do tu nhien dac trung tu dat nung, duoc lam tu dat set dia phuong khai thac o ruong ha go. San pham tao hinh thu cong bang xoay tay, in khuon, do rot… roi nung trong lo tron truyen thong, dung trau lam nhien lieu o nhiet do khoang 900°C suot 7 ngay. Moi chu ky nung keo dai 15 ngay, cho ra nhung san pham moc mac, ben chac, gan voi hon dat va con nguoi Vinh Long.
Vinh Long artisans introduce the process and techniques of traditional pottery making. Vinh Long pottery has a natural red color characteristic of terracotta, made from local clay exploited in low-lying fields. The product is hand-shaped by hand-wrapping, printing molds, pouring and burning in traditional round furnaces, using beams as fuel at a temperature of about 900°C for 7 days. Each firing cycle lasts 15 days, producing rustic, durable products associated with the soul and people of Vinh Long.
