The book series Vietnam Military History is like a golden history of building and defending the Fatherland.

On November 3, in an interview with Lao Dong reporter, the National Political Publishing House Truth said that this agency has just organized the third publication of the book series Vietnam Military History by the Military History Institute to continue to disseminate knowledge of national military history to the people and international friends. This is one of the activities towards major holidays and important historical events in 2024.

The 14-volume Vietnam Military History Series is the result of 20 years of research and compilation with the active cooperation of leading agencies and researchers of the country's historian community and the efforts of the research staff of the Institute of History.

The book is considered a great contemporary history, reconstructing all military activities of the nation in the wars against invaders, protecting the Fatherland, including the efforts of our ancestors to open the country and the civil wars from the time of Hung Vuong - An Duong Vuong to the present day.

According to the Truth National Political Publishing House, the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people has left behind a treasure trove of invaluable military knowledge, containing the laws of existence and development of the nation from which valuable lessons can be drawn on strategies for building and defending the country, which is an important basis for every Vietnamese citizen today and tomorrow to study, understand and continuously exploit and effectively apply to the task of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The book series Military History of Vietnam has reconstructed the great military history of our nation in the struggles against invasion and to protect the Fatherland.

This is a massive, elaborate research work of scientific and practical value, reconstructing all military activities of the nation in the wars against invasion, protecting the Fatherland, as well as the efforts of our ancestors to open the country and the civil wars from the time of Hung Vuong - An Duong Vuong to the present day in all aspects: History of uprising and war, history of military art, history of military organization, history of military ideology, history of military technology.

The book series was honored to have the Preface written by Comrade Le Kha Phieu, General Secretary of the 8th Party Central Committee, and the Introduction written by Professor Tran Van Giau.

The book series consists of 14 volumes, with the main contents of each volume as follows: Volume 1: The early days of defending the country. Volume 2: The struggle for independence and autonomy (from 179 BC to 938). Volume 3: Ngo - Dinh - Tien Le - Ly dynasties (939 - 1225). Volume 4: Military activities during the Tran dynasty (13th - 14th centuries). Volume 5: Military activities during the Ho - Early Le dynasties (15th century). Volume 6: Military activities from 1527 to 1771). Volume 7: Military activities during the Tay Son dynasty (1771-1802). Volume 8: Military activities from 1802 to 1896. Volume 9: Military activities from 1897 to the August Revolution of 1945. Volume 10: The resistance war against French colonialism (1945-1954). Volume 11: The resistance war against the US to save the country (1954-1975). Volume 12: Factors that made up Vietnam's strength to defeat the US.
