Digital transformation is the order of the times

With just a phone, users can transfer and receive money without having to go to the bank and queue like before.

In restaurants, customers pay by phone, wallets are no longer used to hold money but mainly to hold cards. ATMs no longer have long lines of people waiting to withdraw money, the phone takes care of everything.

That is an example of digital transformation that in just a short time, the Vietnamese banking industry has made great strides in management, improving customer service quality, safety and convenience.

Many businesses in other fields are also changing to keep up with the fast-moving “digital train”, because they know that if they don’t keep up, they will be eliminated. With technology applications changing like a storm, being slow means “death”.

The Vietnamese business community has been moving away from the old business management model, which is frankly manual, to a digital model with modern operating methods, saving time and labor.

But the worrying thing is that many businesses have not changed drastically, still struggling between the old and new models. If only exploiting a few applications to "check in", financial management software, it cannot be called digital transformation.

We must think that transformation is not about following the latest trends, but about survival and development. We must realize that digital transformation is about improving management quality, service and product quality, increasing labor productivity, reducing costs and expanding the market.

With just marketing, an "AI" can replace thousands of marketing staff. Just "search" a certain type of product, immediately on your personal page many similar products continuously appear. Marketing is so fast, humans lose to "AI".

Many businesses believe that digital transformation is not possible because they need financial resources to do so. This is true but not the key, the core of digital transformation is people. Businesses must "headhunt" to recruit a team of engineers and employees who are high-quality human resources, mastering technology, they will be the pillars of a digital business.

However, for the business community to transform digitally, there needs to be a digital space created by the government. E-government, e-government, governance using technology applications, all management activities are digitized, then businesses must change themselves to suit that space.

To have digital citizens and digital businesses, we must first have digital government. In fact, the governance quality of digital government must be very high to promote transformation for individuals, organizations, and businesses.
