Promotional contents such as "fast to cure diseases", "rejuvenate old age", "detoxification", "natural healing", counseling and treatment for cancer patients and people with severe illnesses.
A person who does not have expertise or a practicing license but advises on treatment, the consequence may be human lives.
In many videos, Mr. Hoang Lich Thiep believes that fasting can cure many diseases, while chemotherapy and radiation therapy deplete the body.
Those statements affect patients who are confused, desperate and want to find a "miracle" to cure them.
But medicine does not operate by emotional belief, no method is allowed to promote treatment if it has not been scientifically verified by the health agency. It is even more impossible to use a few rumors or social media clips to replace the doctor's treatment regimen.
What is scary is that currently, social networks are becoming a "fertile ground" for online charlatans and miracle doctors.
Some treat cancer with alkaline ionized water, others treat diseases with fasting, cosmic energy, infusion of holy water, qigong or miraculous foods.
The general formula is to hit the psychology of "praying to all directions", wanting to cure quickly and lacking medical knowledge of a part of the population.
Many patients, because they believe in the "miracle doctor", abandon treatment at the hospital, arbitrarily stop taking medicine, and apply unscientific methods, leading to worsening the disease and losing "golden time" for treatment.
Some people lose money and lose the opportunity to live.
The case of "miracle doctor" Nguyen Tien Nam who was just arrested for defrauding nearly 100 billion VND is a very clear warning, untrained, without a practicing license but still brazenly promoting the cure of all diseases with alkaline ionized water for many years.
Now, more "healing institutes", "healers" continue to appear. This shows that the need to control misleading medical information is very urgent.
It is unacceptable for anyone to be able to self-proclaim themselves "miracle doctors" online, promoting unverified treatment methods.
Functional agencies need to quickly intervene to inspect the operation of the "Institute of Vietnamese Medicine", clarify the legality, operating license, expertise of the consulting team and content promoting treatment on social networks. If there are signs of illegal medical examination and treatment or false propaganda affecting public health, they must be strictly handled.
But besides management responsibility, people must also raise their vigilance themselves.
In the era of scientific development, it is impossible to easily believe in advertisements like "cure all diseases", "overcome cancer without chemotherapy", "detoxify and heal" just through a few videos on TikTok or Facebook.
Modern medicine may not cure all diseases, but it is still a medicine based on research, verification and professional responsibility.
