On August 5, Vinh Long Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency had issued a decision to prosecute the accused, applying the measure of prohibiting the accused N.V.B.T from leaving his place of residence to investigate the act of "Violating regulations on road traffic".
On the same afternoon, the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Long Province Police had a working session with the family of the deceased 9th grade female student.
Ms. N.T.H (the mother of the female student who died) said that at the meeting, the investigation agency requested the family to provide compensation. However, the family has not given any figures and only hopes that the authorities will soon clarify and handle the right person for the right crime.
Ms. N.T.H said: "There is no value that can be determined for the lives of two people - my child and my husband. My family just hopes the case will be resolved fairly and transparently."
Since the accident, the victim's family has only called for help, hoping that the authorities would clarify the cause of the accident and restore justice for their daughter.
Because the cry for help fell into hopelessness, and the next heartbreaking incident occurred, Mrs. N.T.H lost her daughter and her husband.
Up to now, the case has been prosecuted, the victim's family hopes everything will be clarified. Even if it is too late, and we have to pay the additional price with the life of the female student's father, the truth must be spoken.
Clarifying the case, determining the cause of the accident was transparent and public, not letting the public suspect that there was cover-up for the person causing the accident.
Regarding this accident, on March 3, the Supreme People's Procuracy (SPP) informed that after checking the records and documents provided by the Vinh Long Provincial People's Procuracy, the Supreme People's Procuracy found that driver N.V.B.T had signs of the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic".
Therefore, the Investigation Police of Tra On District Police, Vinh Long Province (old) issued a Decision not to prosecute the criminal case No. 73/QD-DTTH dated January 23, 2025 with the reason: "There were no criminal incidents"; the Chief Prosecutor of Tra On District People's Procuracy issued a Decision to resolve complaint No. 02/QD-VKS dated February 10, 2025 and the Chief Prosecutor of Vinh Long Provincial People's Procuracy issued a Decision to resolve complaint No. 55/QD-VKS dated March 14, 2025 to reject Mr. Nguyen Vinh Phuc's complaint as not ensuring the basis according to the provisions of law.
Thus, handling the right person and the right crime is to clarify the responsibilities of individuals related to the decision not to prosecute the case and reject the complaint of the female student's father.
Clarifying the case of a female student who died in Vinh Long could not revive 2 lives, but built faith in justice.
