As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, a clip appeared on social media recording a scene of a technology taxi being stopped by a group of strangers while picking up passengers at Thai Nguyen bus station.
The group asked a woman to carry her young child and another passenger to leave the car in hot weather even though they had pre-booked through a ride-hailing app.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Le Hong Duong - Director of Thai Nguyen City Central Bus Station confirmed that only one taxi company is allowed to pick up and drop off passengers in the bus station.
According to Mr. Duong, this unit has signed an exclusive contract with Binh An taxi since 2023, after conflicts between many companies and disrupted security and order.
Regarding the case of passengers booking technology vehicles via the application, Mr. Duong said that the contract did not mention this situation. Because the time of signing the ride-hailing applications was not as popular as it is now: "We do not ban technology taxis from coming and going to pick up and drop off passengers, but picking up and dropping off passengers in the wharf is not allowed".

According to Mr. Duong, after reviewing the clip, he determined that the group of people approaching the technology vehicle could be drivers of the Binh An taxi, the company operating exclusively in the station.
In the coming time, the management unit will strengthen supervision and rectification to prevent similar acts from recurring.
Talking to PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hiep (28 years old), a technology car driver appearing in the clip, recounted: "Customers booked through the app, I drove into the station. The two women and a small child had just gotten into the car when a group of people approached and asked them to get off.

Mr. Hiep said that although there were no threats or assaults, because he did not want a collision, he let the passenger get in the car.
"I left the wharf and called them back. They said that because they had a small child, they decided to ride in the station to avoid trouble, Mr. Hiep added.
The case has been received by Phan Dinh Phung Ward Police for investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
