Invite talented people to shoulder the burden, the country's future will be bright

Lê Thanh Phong |

Despite adverse fluctuations in the global economy, Vietnam has maintained stability, good growth and GDP may exceed the target of 7% in 2024. To achieve such success, the Government has introduced timely, effective and long-term visionary policies and solutions.

Vietnam's economy in 2024 has many remarkable results. I would like to point out a few important numbers and events so that we can generalize in a broad space with many other fields.

Previously, we only talked about imports, trade deficit, and almost only knew how to spend money to import goods from other countries. But this year is the 9th consecutive year that Vietnam has had a trade surplus of 24.31 billion USD. The issue is not just the numbers, but through that, it reflects the reality of a country with a developed economy, with a strong domestic production, high-quality products that are competitive enough in markets around the world.

The trade surplus will certainly be maintained and reach higher numbers in the coming years, when economic cooperation activities with other countries are opened, creating opportunities for Vietnamese goods to conquer new markets.

An event that has attracted international attention is Vietnam's cooperation with NVIDIA to establish two AI development centers. The fact that this famous technology corporation chose Vietnam as its "second home" is the most convincing proof of Vietnam's resources in technology development, including people, policies and strategies for developing a green economy and an economy that exploits Vietnam's high "gray matter".

In 2024, Vietnam will complete the 500kV line 3 project. In addition to solving the power shortage and ensuring national energy security, this project is also considered a milestone in construction speed. This project shows that if there is determination, solutions, and initiatives, it will be completed and ensured on schedule. From the 500kV line 3 project, many other projects will take it as an "example" to complete on schedule or ahead of schedule. Typically, the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway will start construction in early 2023, striving to finish 8 months ahead of schedule.

Infrastructure projects that are constructed quickly and with quality will create more confidence in the implementation of the North-South high-speed railway project with a total length of 1,541km, passing through 20 provinces and cities, which has just been approved by the National Assembly. 10 years for a huge project worth 67 billion USD, is an extremely big challenge.

Determined to do, inviting talented people to shoulder the burden, the country's future will be bright, people will live in prosperity and happiness.
