As soon as receiving a distress message from the staff of Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province: "The power has been out for three days, the signal has been out... people are in dire need of food, clothes, and blankets", the Golden Heart Social Support Fund immediately activated the emergency support channel.
In a very short time, hundreds of high-end blankets, instant noodle boxes, water, milk, cakes, and warm clothes were mobilized. Union officials, philanthropists and the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund crossed the slippery road to give gifts to people in the "flood center" of Khanh Vinh, Nam Khanh Vinh, Dien Lam...
The gifts arrived at night were given to families on temporary shelter, patients who had just had surgery, and those who could not make ends meet in the situation of power outages, water shortages, and cut off roads. That is a Warmth not only from material things, but also from timeliness.
Not only the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund, these days, volunteer groups of individuals and organizations from all over the country are rushing to the flood center of the Central region, bringing food, warm clothes, clean water, medicine and essential items, helping people have food and clothing to have the strength to recover.
However, due to the strong participation of too many organizations and individuals, in some places, there has begun to appear a situation where some locations receive too many relief goods, while many places are lacking.
There are sections of relief vehicles waiting to line up to deliver, but just a few kilometers away, many households are still deeply flooded, unable to go out to receive gifts; some places have piles of chemicals at the gathering point, while those in need have not yet reached any essential items.
This overlapping and concentrated situation not only wastes resources but also reduces the effectiveness of the spirit of volunteering, which is very appreciated.
Therefore, it is important at this time that local authorities in provinces such as Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa urgently provide volunteer groups with a "relief map": Continuously update missing places, those that are full, areas that are still deeply flooded and cannot be reached, along with contact phone numbers of village/commune officials.
When having this map, relief teams also need to proactively contact local authorities to allocate and choose a suitable route, avoid overlap, avoid congestion and most importantly: Bring relief goods to the right place where people need them most.
Volunteer groups should also carefully review destination information to avoid concentrating goods in deeply flooded areas that are mentioned many times in the media, as is happening in the flood center of Hoa Thinh in Dak Lak province.
Only with a "relief map" and smooth coordination between the government and volunteer groups, will people in flooded areas not fall into a situation of "fullness and hunger".
Each gift, whether small or large, if it reaches the right hands of people in difficulty, will not only be material help, but also the warmth of humanity, helping people in the Central region have more strength to stand up after natural disasters.
Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods
Consecutive storms and floods caused by storms have caused many deaths, missing people, and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the Central and Northern mountainous provinces are struggling day and night to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property that cannot be mentioned...
"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods to have food, clothing, shelter, students have books to go to school...
The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
